Pittsburgh Penguins @ Philadelphia Flyers Preview & Best Bet
Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins will be in Philadelphia for a matchup with the Flyers a team that the Penguins lost to twice in December, once in overtime and once in a shootout. But recently, the Penguins have started to turn it around winning six of their last nine games, and the Flyers have started to fall off losing six of their last eight games.
On top of that the Penguins have been the better team at five on five over the last 10 games out ranking the Flyers in Fenwick For %, Shots For %, Expected Goal For %, Scoring Chance % and High Danger Chance For%. The Penguins Powerplay is one of the biggest weaknesses of this team, but they have started to turn that around as well scoring Powerplay goals in five of their last seven games while only giving up two goals on the penalty kill over their last 10.
The Flyers regression over their last 10 has also been very noticeable only scoring more than two goals three times in their last ten games and have the eighth worst Expected Goal For % over that same stretch.
Even without the Flyers struggling, I like this as a revenge angle for the Penguins after losing two straight to this team in extra time in back to back games just a month ago after beating them in seven of the eight prior matchups.
Official Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins Moneyline (-122)
I’ll be posting the rest of my plays for the day on Discord & Twitter. It’s a small slate, but I will likely add one or two more plays.
